Prior to our first meeting, you will be asked to complete a set of new client forms via our client portal. Together, we will review the information you have provided, discuss your reasons for seeking counseling and begin to discuss goals for treatment.

Sessions are generally 53 minutes in length.

We create treatment plans that are tailored to meet your individual needs. While the time frame is different for each client, the process takes time, patience and commitment to meet your goals.

Counseling can provide you with various benefits. Talking with a supportive, caring person can provide relief and a sense of feeling heard and understood. Counseling can also provide you with an objective perspective on your situation and the tools, knowledge and support needed to help you make positive changes.

As therapists, we are required by legal and ethical standards to maintain confidentiality. Information is not disclosed without your written permission. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule, which include: 1) if you are or become a danger to yourself or others, 2) real or alleged abuse to children, elderly or dependent adults, 3) in the case of a court-ordered subpoena, 4) as per the Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) Act, we are mandated to report to the Department of Human Services if it is determined that you are a clear and present danger to yourself or others or are developmentally or intellectually disabled.
